A fence!

When Scott and I bought our house, we knew it needed a fence.  There was a back fence, and a half wrought iron fence that the neighbors had on one side, but the rest was completely open.  At the time of moving in, we only had our two little dogs, Chewy and Kaya.  Luckily, they are both decently well behaved and didn't leave the backyard when they were outside.

Fast forward about 6 months, and Baker came home with us.  After a couple of accidental times when he slipped his way off his cable system in the backyard, we'd find him running madly around the golf course about 3 holes up.  After one too many escapes, we decided it was finally time to build a fence.  And then winter came and we had to wait.  It seemed as if each time we went to get materials to start building, a snow storm would come.  Finally in April, we figured it would be time to build the fence, seeing as how it's spring and all.  But nope.  Mother nature had other plans.  We were hit with 7 snow storms since March 1st, each preventing our much wanted fence from being built.  And despite our 80+ degree weekend, we have another one on the way tomorrow.

Despite all the set backs, the boys FINALLY were able to get the fence complete!

It really is the little things in life :-)

The dogs are happy.  The humans are happy.  Everyone is happy!  The fence was finished just in time for our BBQ this upcoming weekend to celebrate my graduation.  That's right, I am officially graduating from college! 4 schools, 2 states and 6 years is all it took to earn 2 bachelors degrees ;-)

Better late than never!

New Fridge!

Phew.  I really am a bad blogger.  I can't even remember the last time I posted something.  But, I realized I haven't had a whole lot of a house related things to post about.  We ended up basically taking the winter off from doing any projects as we spend all of our time snowboarding.  Now that the weather is getting nicer, we are getting back into the remodeling mood.

On Saturday, Scott and I were running errands and ended up over by the Sears Outlet (our favorite appliance shop EVER!).  Since we were so close, we decided to stop in with no plans of buying anything.  We like to browse and keep and eye on their deals so when the right price is available, we can buy it.  Well, turns out our fridge that we had wanted was the right price this weekend.  We have a KitchenAid range and dishwasher and knew we wanted to stay with the brand as we have been so happy with them so far.  Sears never seems to get many KitchenAid appliances into the outlet, so we figured we'd have to pay full price.

We lucked out!  Nestled in between rows and rows of fridges, we found the KitchenAid we have been looking for!  With a 29 cubic feet and a list price of $2,900, we would have never been able to get a new fridge had it not been from the outlet.

Some other random things that have happened in the months since we I last posted...

We got a new rug for the family room and my mom passed us down a wonderful set of furniture!  Ignore how dirty the rug looks in the picture...it was new and still shedding!

Baker and his best friend Oakley wrestling on the new couch :-)
Scott's best friend moved in with us from Washington.  Meet Russ!

We got a TON of snow...over and over and over again.

My mom came and visited.  We walked around Red Rocks and it was absolutely gorgeous!

Scott's mom, sister, brother in law and their kids came and visited for almost 2 weeks over New Years.  We spent most of the time up in the mountains.

Scott and I went home to Seattle for a visit in January and made some new friends...

and I got to catch up with my baby brother.

It's been a busy few months! We are excited to get going on some of our spring projects now that the weather is (almost) getting nicer!

Happy 2 Year Anniversary!

I can't believe it's been 2 years since Scott and I were married in Sun Valley.  To this day, it has been one of the greatest trips I've ever taken.  Even though our wedding was small (40 people) it was perfect in every way.  Now for a trip down (picture) memory lane...

To this day, I can't get over how grateful Scott and I are that so many people traveled such a distance to share our special day.  Everyone that attended and has supported us reminds us of how much love we have in our lives.  Thank you to everyone that attended in person and attended in spirit!

After the wedding, we were even featured in Sun Valley Magazine.  Here is the link to the online article: http://www.sunvalleymag.com/Blogs/Hitched/Fall-2010/Scott-amp-Lindsay/
